I am returning to my comedic roots (actually, I’m in Spokane about once a month to pick up my kids – sorry – daddy time actually IS more important than comedy time) for the first time in a few years now to perform what I hope is the first of many weekends at the new Spokane Comedy Club at 1221 N Howard, Friday and Saturday, Jan 13-14, 8PM shows each night. Howdy y’all. Happy Holidays. As we all know, unless you still live at home with your parents, or, believe in Santa, the holidays can really suck and be stressful. Well, how about you blow off shopping for loved ones, and come listen to some absurd, soaked-in-sarcasm hate mongering by myself and a TON of special guests at the Hollywood Improv this Friday at 8PM. I should’ve posted something a long time ago about this, but, well, I was lazy. I had an amazing time in South Africa from July 18th to August 16th at the Nando’s International Comedy Festival. I spent my first two weeks at the Monte Casino in Johannesburg, the third week in Durban performing at the the ICC arena, and my final week in Cape Town performing at the Baxter Theater. Ironically, in South Africa, I got to know a lot of great comics who, like me, live in LA. Theo Von, Michael Loftus, Mark Curry, Steve Byrne, Mark Eddie, Greg Behrendt, and Pablo Francisco were all really funny, and, super cool to hang out with. I owe all of you some pictures. I also got to work with a really cool dude/super funny Australian comic, Dave Thorton, and, some fantastic people/South African comics – Ndumiso Lindi, Loyiso Gola, Lindzy Msimang, and Nik Rabinowitz. The Hunta Live production crew was incredible, the band was amazing, and I really want to thank the South African comedy fans who attended the shows for giving me some of the best performances of my career. And then, South Africa for the second half of July/first half of August. More details on that when I get them. Not sure what I’ll bitch about there yet, but, I’m guessing it won’t be racial tension, because I want to come back to the states in something other than a coffin.
